Corporate excursion to the Autostadt Wolfsburg and Hanseatic town of Hamburg!

This weekend we went on a corporate excursion to the Autostadt Wolfsburg and Hanseatic town of Hamburg.

On arrival at the train station of Wolfsburg we strolled along the Midland Canal and soon reached the bridge to transfer to the Autostadt Wolfsburg (Car city of Wolfsburg). We would like to greatly thank the Ritz Carlton hotel for their warm welcome, the personal tour of the hotel – located in the center of the Autostadt - and the superb family style lunch overlooking the old power plant and canal.

In the afternoon we enjoyed an insightful tour of the Volkswagen Factory followed by a small coffee break before continuing by train to Hamburg and rounded off the day with excellent wine and dinner at Barefood Deli, the new restaurant of famous German actor Til Schwaiger.

The Hyperion hotel near Hamburg central station provided well equipped rooms with nice views of the city of Hamburg for our team to catch some well-earned sleep.

After a delicious breakfast and a short inspection of the hotel we began the day with an informative city tour highlighting especially hotels, restaurants and special points of interests. We would like to thank our enthusiastic and humorous guide Martina for her fantastic service.

The lunchtime highlight of the day was a windy visit to the Elbphilharmonie Plaza located at a height of 37 metres above ground level. This public viewing platform is open to everyone and offers a breathtaking 360° view of the city and the harbor. Our visit was followed by a tasty lunch at the Störtebeker restaurant inside the Elbphilharmonie.

After lunch we explored Hamburg’s city center on foot, stopping at various central hotels and restaurants for a brief look-see and discovering hidden treasures along the way.

By early evening our team said Good Bye to Hamburg and boarded the ICE-train to Berlin with traditional “Franzbrötchen” (cinnamon pastries) in hand, and filled with new impressions of the grand hanseatic town of Hamburg.
