Last Friday, the i-contravel team went on a bike ride to rediscover the east of the city directly on the waterfront. Since 1990 the former industrial area at the Rummelsburger Bucht is being redeveloped by the state of Berlin. In recent years, exciting residential buildings have been constructed alongside special areas for the creative scene, with affordable rents and the charm of the unfinished.
We discovered the exciting buildings for young startups that arise directly by the waterfront, as well as the Funkhaus building, the last stop of our tour. Once built as a prestige object of the GDR, the Funkhaus today is well worth a visit. It is being redeveloped into a large event location in the next years which will have a private pier on the waterfront.
We look forward to offer you a new and interesting tour!
